  • Throat spray

I have the flu and I was desperate in the middle of the night. I used phenol 1.4% throat spray. I sprayed it a 3-4x in my throat and then bc I was half asleep I accidentally swallowed it instead of spitting it out. I quickly realized I hadn’t checked the safety of it. And now I’m worried after what I’m reading. My little guy is 18 months old if it makes a difference. He has not nursed since I took the meds. Should I avoid breastfeeding? For how long? Should I pump and dump? Is my toddler at risk? Thanks for helping a very anxious mama.

I doubt there is much risk to this small amount of phenol to an 18 month old infant. It should be all gone in 24 hours.
