  • Breastfeeding mother working in lab

    Hello,

I am counselling a mum returning to work in a lab. She will be working with the following substances (among others) and would very much like to know if any are harmful to her 1 year old baby through breastfeeding, and if there are any special precautions she may take:

Sodium dodecyl sulfate, DMSO, Imidazole, Nickel sulfate hexahydrate, PMSF, Tris, Sodium azide, leupeptin.

I have done a search for the substances but have come up empty. Thank you for any help :-)

    Sissemor,

We do not have studies on most environmental exposures, we usually tell moms to use all protective gear required by OSHA when working with these agents, and if they were to have accidental exposure to their skin to wash off immediately.

    I hope this helps.
