  • Clonazepam and other meds and sleep disturbed baby

I am currently breastfeeding an 11 week old who is having a lot of sleep issues with very short sleeps overnight. I have terrible insomnia post Lyme disease and am on clonazepam .5 times 2 before bed along with either diazepam 5mg or temazepam 20mg as well as escitalopram 20mg. Doc keep telling me my meds are likely the reason for his frequent waking.
We are both going crazy and not sleeping. Can these meds cause sleep disturbance when breastfeeding? Also can they accumulate in his system so it gets worse over time?

      Jools:

This is somewhat hard to understand, insomnia with these depressant drugs. I think you need to have the baby evaluated by a pediatrician to see if he/she is not getting enough milk, has reflux, or any other problem that could cause insomnia. I can't see how its the drugs.
